Our Philosophy
As Einstein may or may not have said, we can't solve our problems with the same thinking that created them.
Yet we live in a world that often struggles to heed this wisdom. Many efforts to create change still rely on outdated paradigms that separate parts from the whole, even though our challenges are relational, dynamic, and alive. Meeting them requires expanding how we make sense of the world, ourselves, and our role within it.
Across cultures and throughout history, wisdom holders, lineage keepers, and systems scientists have shared insights into the nature of living systems and the developmental capacities needed to work within them. These perspectives reveal deeper truths about how life unfolds and how we might orient ourselves with it. But they often remain abstract or difficult to integrate amid the pace and pressure of real-world work.
Wisdom on Earth helps bring these ancient and emerging perspectives into practical dialogue. Through these conversations, we strengthen our shared capacity to see more clearly, sense what is needed, and act with greater alignment as we navigate complexity in service of a world that works for all.
Meet your host
Brandon is an organizational psychologist and strategist who strengthens leaders' capacity to sense and respond to the dynamics within themselves and the systems they influence.
As the first employee and Chief Program Officer at the Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA), Brandon spent over seven years empowering the next generation of ocean innovators with programs, networks, and funding to advance both their growth and impact. He helped launch the world’s first ocean tech accelerator, deploying $4.2M to 65 early-stage startups, and created SOA’s flagship grant program, distributing $1.5M to 300 pre-seed projects across 70 countries.
In parallel, Brandon curated and scaled the world’s largest community of young ocean leaders, spanning 7,000 members, 80 grassroots hubs, and 40 bioregions. He supported this transnational network through mentorship, capacity building, and professional development, including fellowships, workshops, and global leadership summits.
Earlier in his career, Brandon led several strategic initiatives at the California Clean Energy Fund (CalCEF), now New Energy Nexus. He managed operations for the $48M CalSEED fund, guiding investment recommendations and supporting the development of selected companies. He also directed ecosystem-building efforts for CalCharge, a joint initiative connecting companies, research institutions, and investors to accelerate energy storage innovation. On the policy side, Brandon convened industry and government leaders through high-level roundtables to advance California SB 100 and the state’s clean energy transition.
Brandon holds an MBA in Sustainable Management from Presidio Graduate School, where he focused on applied systems thinking and value-driven business strategy.
He also earned an MA in Organizational Psychology from William James College, where he authored a thesis applying complexity science and living systems theory to help innovation-driven companies navigate VUCA environments with greater resilience.
A certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher trained under Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, Brandon draws on this background when mentoring founders and leaders, helping them engage with internal, interpersonal, and organizational challenges with presence and perspective.
Brandon has presented on his work at leading forums and institutions across five continents, including the UN, COP, NASA, UC Berkeley, Toniic, and Goldman Sachs.
Outside of work, Brandon enjoys learning from Indigenous wisdom keepers, rooting for the Knicks, and composing music that blends self-inquiry, philosophy, and hip-hop.
